1 credit = 1,000 words scanned, rounded up per check. A 2,300-word paper costs 3 credits. That is the whole pricing model - no page units, no sentence caps, no credit sizes that need a calculator. Deep checks (wider source retrieval) cost double, and that is marked before you run one.
Most people should not. Free covers 2500 words a check anonymously and 10000 with an account - more than the 1,000-word industry norm, with no ads. Pay only when you need long documents (up to 25000 words), bulk volume, deep retrieval, PDF reports at scale or the API.
Credit packs stay valid for 365 days from purchase - if you buy 30 credits tonight for one paper, the other 27 are still there next semester. Subscription credits refresh monthly with the plan.
No ads on any tier, ever. The category norm is a free checker wrapped in ad farms; our free tier is funded by the paid tiers, not by your attention. That is also why there is no incentive to inflate scores to scare you into upgrading.
