Checks the live public web in real time. We keep no database of student papers, and results are a guide for review - not proof. How it works

How the check works

1. We read your text

Your text is normalized and split into sentences - including the Unicode lookalike tricks used to fool checkers.

2. We search the live web

Distinctive phrases from every part of your document are searched as exact quotes to find candidate sources - the same pages a suspicious reader would find.

3. We compare, sentence by sentence

Every candidate page is downloaded and every sentence of your text is aligned against its real content. Only verified overlap counts - never a bare search result.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. You can check up to 1500 words per run, 3 times a day, without an account and without ads. A free account raises that to 3000 words and 8 checks a day plus saved reports and PDF downloads. Paid credits exist for bulk and very long documents - but the free tier is a full checker, not a teaser.

The live public web, at the moment you run the check. We build search queries from your text, retrieve candidate pages, download them and compare your sentences against their real content locally. We do not keep a database of student papers and we cannot see paywalled or private archives - and we say so on every report instead of pretending otherwise.

Usually 20-45 seconds. Real web searches are rate-limited and each candidate page has to be downloaded and compared, so the check runs as a background job with a live progress bar - you see exactly which stage it is on: searching, fetching sources, comparing.

No, and any tool that says otherwise is overselling. 0% means we found no matches on the public web right now. Offline books, paywalled journals, very fresh pages and private submission archives (like Turnitin’s) are invisible to every web-based checker, including this one. Treat the score as a guide for review, not a verdict.

Your text is stored only so your report can be rendered, and anonymous checks are not tied to your identity. We never add your text to any matching database, never use it for training, and never resell it. Delete your account and its checks go with it.
